How far in advance should I book?

For horse shows, I recommend booking at least 4–6 weeks in advance, especially for summer and fall shows which fill up quickly. Portrait sessions (equine, pet, family) can often be scheduled with 2–3 weeks notice, though popular dates go fast. Reach out as early as possible to secure your preferred date.

What happens if the weather is bad on my session day?

For outdoor portrait sessions, I monitor the forecast closely and will reach out 48 hours before if weather looks questionable. We can reschedule at no charge due to rain, extreme heat, or unsafe conditions. For horse shows, I shoot in most weather conditions — overcast days actually produce beautiful, even light. I'll only cancel a show day in cases of lightning or truly unsafe conditions.

How long does a typical portrait session last?

Equine portrait sessions run 1–2 hours depending on the package. Pet sessions are typically 1–1.5 hours. Family sessions with horses are 1.5–2 hours. I build in extra time so we never feel rushed — some of the best images come when we slow down and let things unfold naturally.

Do you travel for sessions?

Yes! I'm based in Bellefonte, PA and regularly travel throughout Centre County and surrounding areas. Travel fees may apply for sessions more than 30 miles from Bellefonte. For horse shows, I cover events throughout Pennsylvania and neighboring states — contact me for a travel quote.

Can I bring multiple horses or pets to a session?

Absolutely. I love multi-animal sessions! Just let me know in advance so we can plan the session timeline accordingly. Additional animals may extend the session length, which is reflected in the pricing tiers.

What's included in the session fee?

Every session includes my time and talent, professional editing of your selected images, and delivery via a private online gallery. The number of edited images and gallery access duration varies by package — see the Services page for full details on each tier.

Question 7

Do you require a deposit to book?

Accepted Answer

Yes, a 25% non-refundable retainer is required to secure your date. The remaining balance is due one week before your session. For horse show coverage, full payment is due 48 hours before the show.

What payment methods do you accept?

I accept all major credit and debit cards, Venmo, PayPal, and cash. Online purchases (prints, digital downloads, gift certificates) are processed securely through GoDaddy Payments.

Do you offer payment plans?

For larger packages (full-day show coverage, extended portrait sessions), I'm happy to work out a payment plan. Reach out and we can discuss what works for your budget.

Are prints included in the session fee?

Digital files are included in most packages. Prints, canvas wraps, and other products are available for purchase separately through the Prints & Products page. I use professional lab printing to ensure archival quality.

How long until I receive my photos?

Portrait sessions are typically delivered within 2–3 weeks. Horse show galleries take 3–4 weeks due to the volume of images. Rush delivery (within 1 week) is available for an additional fee — contact me if you need images quickly.

How are photos delivered?

Accepted Answer

All images are delivered via a private, password-protected online gallery. You'll receive an email with your gallery link and password. From there you can view, download, and share your images. Galleries remain active for 90 days, with the option to extend.

How many photos will I receive?

This varies by package. Portrait sessions typically include 30–75 fully edited images. Full-day horse show coverage includes 100–200 images. I focus on quality over quantity — every image in your gallery is fully edited and print-ready.

Can I share my gallery photos on social media?

Accepted Answer

Yes! I love seeing my work shared. I ask that you credit @addisonsartphoto when posting. Please don't crop out watermarks or apply heavy filters — the images are edited to look their best as delivered.

Question 15

What kind of paper do you use for prints?

Accepted Answer

I print on professional archival paper rated to last 100+ years without fading. Options include fine art matte, lustre (semi-gloss), and metallic finishes. Canvas wraps use museum-quality canvas with UV-protective coating.

How long does print delivery take?

Accepted Answer

Prints are typically produced and shipped within 7–10 business days. Canvas wraps may take up to 2 weeks. All prints are carefully packaged to arrive in perfect condition.

Can I order prints from old sessions?

Accepted Answer

Yes! As long as your gallery is still active (within 90 days of delivery), you can order prints directly. For older sessions, contact me and I can check if your files are still in my archive.

Do you offer gift certificates?

Yes! Gift certificates are available in any amount and make a wonderful gift for the horse lover or pet parent in your life. They can be purchased on the Prints & Products page and are delivered digitally.
